  1. I have been following the coin with interested. However like you mentioned, the wear off on the ear was rather heavy to be graded as UNC. To me. I would put it at about AU 50 only. Image overall was poor to help evaluate the coin

  14. Malaysia 1st series of coins after independence. Mintage only started in 1967 even though we gained our independence in 1957.Prior to 1967 we continue with the British Malaya Dollar. On 16th January 1969, the British Malaya Dollar tender was discontinued Obverse: Parliament House of Malaysia Reverse: Hibiscus Flowers, Malaysia & Denominations There are many modern gem coins today and of high value. So I thought I put up one to start the ball rolling. Denomination : 10sen Year : 1971 Composition : Copper-Nickel Mintage : 32,236 Graded : MS-66 By NGC Value: $360 ~ $450
  15. Well, well, well! Some of the coins I sent for slabbing are back. Will post it along over the weeks. Was very happy with some of the coins graded and not so on some which could not graded, being having surface scratches. Here's the 1st coin I posted in Feb '13 and now slabbed. Was very happy with the gradings. Straits Settlements Q Victoria Denomination : 5cts Year : 1898 Composition : Silver .800 fine Mintage : 1,200,000 Graded : MS63 (5 pieces recorded and certified by NGC)
  16. It is interesting to see a security feature on coins. But, does it serve its purpose? Are there any other coins in circulation having this features? it would be interesting to note them.
  17. Wonder how many realized Malaysia has introduced a new series of coins in 2011 ending the long circulation of the previous since 1989. In this series, the 1 sen denomination has been excluded. Below are the coins and it's descriptions. Do Ignore the description "2013 Edition" At this point, I wish to highlight one unique feature of the 50 sen coin. It has a security feature minted along to its design. A latent image of the number " 50" and "Sen" inscribed, visible at an angle.
  18. Time frame for conservation and grading is as mentioned, about 2 months from the date of submission to Mavin International
  19. Hi Chin, I sent my coins to NGC via Mavin Singapore . Time frame indicate about 2 months, but this time round it took about 5~6 weeks.
  20. Thanks ART, will be sending it for certification in about 2 weeks time, and at the same time to collect some coins been sent earlier.
  21. Straits Settlements Q Victoria Denomination : 50cts Year : 1901 Composition : Silver .800 fine Mintage : 120,000 Graded : VF+ ~ XF This is the latest coin acquired recently. Enjoy!
  22. Wow! This is a 1920 "Dot" it's a rare coin and probably in XF condition. Looks harshly cleaned with scratches, but none the less as said, a rare coin. You should have the coin cleaned of the verdigris, preserved and slab by profession like NGC. Do have it done. Great coin. Where did you get from?
  23. Straits Settlements Q Victoria Denomination : 50cts Year : 1899 Composition : Silver .800 fine Mintage : 136,000 Graded : VF+ ~ XF A very desirable copy which I gotten a while back via auctions. These coins are getting relatively hard to find in auctions now a days. Not many collectors are selling them off I guess.
