  1. AAFES POGS / MPCS

Hey Gang, Selling off some AAFES Pogs to fund other purchases. I will try to keep prices competitive, usually Ebay or less. Sometimes a POG does command a premium. If you are interested in a POG and don't like the price, pm with an offer. All POGS will be shipped on my dime. Paypal F/F preferred or if G/S selected, please add 3% to sale. Here we go. The need for POGs was created by the lack of change in Operation Enduring Freedom. Pogs are lighter than coins which does decrease shipping weight as previously mentioned but there were other reasons as well. By having the military ship coins it would require tasking soldiers to perform the mission and put them at risk. AAFES felt the coins were not worth putting soldiers at risk if an alternative could be found. 1. 6th Printing 6M51 Elvis POG, Extremely rare $ 25 2. 6th Printing 6D101 Elvis POG Extremely rare $ 25 3. 6th Printing 6E101 Elvis POG Extremely rare $ 25 4. 6th Printing 6F101 Elvis POG Extremely rare $ 25 5. 6. Art Kagin seriously ill

In response to 16d. How does one coin go about getting bumped from an XF to, I think, a PF60 ( Regarding the 1894S Dime ).. Just curious ... I have a 1995W Silver American Eagle .. that appears to have been cleaned ( Why They would do such a thing ? ) .... Thanks ... Tracy
  7. Military Payment Certificates (MPCs)

ART, Great write ups on the MPC's .. Do you collect any of the current military change /certificates issued to our freedom fighters overseas ??? The first issue of POGs that were used for monetary purposes· were released at AAFES facilities in Afghanistan at the beginning of 2002. They were valid at all AAFES facilities, but they do not have legal tender status and are issues of the AAFES and not of the Department of Defense itself (as were MPCs). Unlike MPCs all POGs issued to date have remained valid, and thus far there have been no C-days. Also unlike MPCs personnel are not paid in POGs. Thus they function as light-weight small-change tokens, and they are used to make small purchases and to provide change at AAFES facilities. Once brought back to the states and used at any AAFES Facilities, they are destroyed.
  8. U.S. Army Pogs website.

  9. AAFES

Fellow Collectors .... AAFES POGS are still being used. Due to the issue of the Eagle Cash Card, you are seeing less and less of the Pogs. They have created quite the rush on Ebay also .. Some Single Pogs going from 35 cents to over 100.00 dollars.. 6th Printing Dimes, total $1.20 sold for $425.00 .... If you know of someone that might be interested .... please pass my info on to them. Thanks for the read. Tracy
  10. Arminius AAFES POGS are coin like military pay. They were created for use at AAFES stores serving troops deployed in contingency operations. Though they are only issued as change downrange, they are also accepted at AAFES stores worldwide. They have become quite the collector item.
