I just wanted to know an overall background of creating these coins ... Do we know how much were struck? Were they melted later or the mintage was very low? Why only shostacks and tympfs, no other polish denominations like very popular trojak (3 grossi) or ort (1/4 thaler)? Hello, Can anyone help me providing any kind of information about this small but very interesting series of coins? The only thing I know is that they were struck for Russian army in Poland (?) with polish coin standard - timf and shostak (6 groszy). http://www.m-dv.ru/monety-rossii-1700-1917/kid,7/mid,12/nid,121/types.html Shostak seems to be much more uncommon than timf. Unfortunately I do not know Russian and the only short info I managed to find was in Russian. Thanks in advance.

Thanks Rarenum, Frankly I don't like that "regular" patina, with the only darker places between letters and small details. Looks like cleaning. When looking on larger pictures I got from the seller it looks much worse than mount removed, it has signs of a repaired hole. One letter is also changed incorrectly (?) - A instead of K. Planned to bid it but now I'm going to pass ...

Hey, I am confused by this example of Warsaw Mint issue Rouble. Look at the two lines under the "Rouble" sign. The one on the left side is obviously shorter than the one on the right. I don't see any scratching or any other kind of tooling near that line. I searched the internet but I couldn't find any similar example. Can it be some new die type? Another interesting thing about this coin is that it is probably overdated - look at the last "4".

Thanks for letting us know! Actually the seller is known also on the biggest polish auction platform - allegro.pl, he has very similar or maybe the same nickname. And that person is selling regularly OSTs in mint condition - usually 3 coins per auction (looks like he has pretty a number of it) and he always gets about 100USD for it or more.
