  1. I have an uncut sheet of 32 1981 1$ FRN notes from the Boston branch. I have had it in the cardboard it came in since getting it over 30 years ago. I just tried removing it, to find that who ever packed it back then used 2 pieces of scotch tape to hold it to the cardboard backing. I want to sell it, which means rolling it up in a tube. Shipping flat costs about $40. Is there a trick to removing this sheet from the cardboard? I could just trim the scotch tape but that might leave some tape hanging loose to stick to the rest of the sheet. Is it normal to just ship these things flat?
  2. I sent the scans to a dealer in Hansatsu, hamchan on ebay, and he told me they were just documents. Basically warehouse receipts for sake. Now that I think of it, I remember that is correct.
  3. I bought the two notes (or paper items) shown in the attached scans, over 20 years ago. They were supposed to be Hansatsu, local Japanese currency from the 1700's & 1800's. These two were basically warehouse receipts for a very large amount of rice, issued by a particular clan. I no longer have the receipt with the details. If anyone can recognize these or make a suggestion or at least read the seals, I would be grateful.
  4. A helpful librarian at the ANA has verified the rarity rating. Thanks to all who viewed.
  5. I greatly appreciate all the help I have received from coinpeople on my questions about my notes! Here is another: I have a specimen of the United States Foreign Domestic Exchange Company One Dollar Note from September 20, 1837. It is payable in Portland Maine, though the company itself seems to have been based in New York. I had it certified and it came back MS60. In googling on the web for this note, one of the pages seemed to say that Wait had rated this note an R5. The book referred to is probably Maine Obsolete Paper Money & Scrip. If someone can verify the rarity rating I will have a better ide of how valuable this note is. Thanks
  6. About 20 years ago I purchased this note. I no longer have the receipt or the name of the dealer. What I need is an attribution and hopefully a reference work. Thanks
  7. Hello. This is my first post and my name is Paul. I found this odd banknote, apparently chinese, in my collection. It does not show up in Pick, but my copy of that book is perhaps 20 years old. I also checked Korea & Japan. I bought this note about 20 years ago, also, but do not have the receipt. It measures about 8 cm X 14.5 cm. Thanks. I am trying to figure out how to put bigger images in this post.
