Hi Art, thanks for the reply,regarding the building project me and my wife strarted it in january and we finally got it water tight 3weeks ago,i finished the last bit of brickwork yesterday and we will start the facias ETC soon,the plasterboarding will begin next weekend though i dont think it will have a new kitchen in it till after xmas!! we have never done anything like this before and we are pleased with the results,the building inspector thought we were joking when we told him we didnt know what we were doing

Hi guys ive not been on here for a while as ive been busy working as well as building an extension on our house!!! i finally managed to get out metal detecting yesterday for the first time in months,i couldnt believe my luck as my only find was a edward the confessor penny,im still trying to read these coins and i think this one is aelfwine on thetford,can anybody confirm this for me? perhaps ye old collector maybe able to help yet again? look forward to any replies,thanks michael

  9. hi there,perhaps someone out there can give me any infomation on this jetton ive had in my collection for a long time,i believe its edward I but what is unusual is thats its groat size and not the usual penny size any infomation much appreciated thanks michael happy new year to you all

Hi Clive,yep i agree also,the penny is fab!!! and the history lesson too, perhaps you can do your next lesson on the commemoritive penny of saint edmund?? im a little confused as to why the vikings made pennies to commemorate him even though they murdered him? or do i have the wrong end of the stick? regards again
