  1. Here's a Jefferson War Nickel in an old ANACs slab. I liked the old ANACs slabs and have quite a few of my Indian Head Cents in them. I was not pleased when they switched to their newer format as they no longer fit the Intercept Shield boxes that I use to house my IHCs that are ANACs. MS64 with 5 full steps. It's a pretty nice nickel.
  2. That's a nice medal. The trial piece at the auction was beautiful as well. I'm quite surprised at the estimated price and even more so at the final price.
  3. Great coins. I could fall in love with all of them. (Especially that Maundy set! WOW!)
  4. And a few more. Still having a bit of trouble getting the white balance right on these. The slabs really are white white not this tanish color.
  5. Added a bunch to Omnicoin today. A few examples.
  6. added a bunch of Jeffersons to Omnicoin today. Here are a few examples.
  7. Nice notes everyone. While I'm a big Ghana fan, I do think the colors are a little overdone. I'll probably be looking for that set after the New Year.
  8. My December purchases arrived today. Roosevelt Dimes: •NGC ••2002S Clad PF69UC ••1994S Clad PF69UC ••1981P MS66FT ••1981D MS66FT •PCGS ••1973S PR68CAM ••1971S PR68CAM I'll post pics and add them to omnicoin when I get to the photography thing.
  9. It's not surprising that there's nothing left for me. You're getting all the great stuff.
  10. I can see where it adds to the challenge of putting a set of notes together. That's fun.
  11. Thanks Dave. I did not know any of this. So the banks issue the notes under government authority. Value and trade-wise they are completely interchangeable - is that correct?
  12. I like the architectural contrast on those notes Dave. Please why two different banks? Do they have a central banking establishment with subsidiaries or some such thing?
  13. Is that the "best" known example? Do you have the Provenance for the coin? If so how far back can it be traced?
  14. Interesting find. Any local coin shows recently?
  15. A high post count makes a CoinPeep happy. (At least this CoinPeep). I probably check these machines 4 or 5 times a month. I only post something when in the mood because all of you lucky folks are talking about your great finds. Sure pick on the guy with the low post count.
  16. I'm going to make an effort over 2012 to get all of the pictures for museums and such onto Omnicoin or Banknotebank to keep them from getting "lost".

Take a look at Ghana in banknotes for an example.

Would you be interested in having "curators" for different sections of the museum? Ex. Mark Stilson curates the Morgan section. I curate the Peace dollar section. Etc. Then we can add our own expertise (VAMs, patterns, etc) to the museum.

  17. Thanks to everyone for their help in choosing a new id. I have mailed the prizes to the winners this afternoon. So when my new id (now Art2) gets to 56789 or maybe 45678 posts they'll be another contest like this.
  18. They are a departure from the brighly colored notes we see from many places lately. Of the three the 5 Piasters is the nicest for my tastes.
  19. I have most certainly changed my mind on this. I really enjoy the Roosevelts and especially find the PRDCAM coins attractive. Over time things can change, even me.
  20. I think you're correct on that one.
  21. Many lost images. I'll see about recovering what I can.
