    eBAY watch

Thanks very much. Missed that it is double Rouble. Still posted. World-wide Coins of California catalog received today!
  2. Hi - This 1722 is currently listed on eBAY. It appears to me that this is either Bitkin 497, 498, or 835. Version with star above head. I contacted the seller and suggested it is not authentic. He is very nice. Thoughts on this? Best. Dwight https://www.ebay.com/itm/1722-Peter-The-Great-One-Russian-Roubel/254204238983 e Bay item number: 254204238983
  3. So sorry to hear this. Keep us posted on this. I had wondered about using Katz and this answers that question. FYI a top coin guy told me that you are always safe if you buy com members of International Association of Professional Numismatists. So I always check Katz is not a member

  8. Greeting. I think Bitkin show two basic categories of this coin, one with two flags and one with three. I can see no difference in obverse side of coin. Am i wrong? With wear and rough images it is hard to identify reverse type. Tips? I have a scanned version of Bitkin on my iPad which is very handy . But could use some guidance please Best Dwight
  9. From what I seen many show wear. Beautiful! Was wondering about age so this looks like Catherine II. Very interesting. thanks and congrats

  12. Hello - I was scanning things and came across this coin. It is very interesting and a very old novodel. Does anyone have any thoughts on this coin? Experiences or does anyone have images to share. Any proud owners? Novodels interest me. And for one to be so old. Seems odd and even a little mysterious. Thanks much.
  13. Eugene is wonderful in assisting me with info on the book. From what I have seen, the coin images he has are the finest I have ever seen anywhere. That is awesome for me an anyone who purchases. Best to all.

  18. A sad state of affairs. It seems like the nice coin is now jewelry. it is interesting that it was probably converted when the coin was new, thus the good condition., Speaking of jewelry, i somehow managed to end up with a carved up poltina of about the same vintage. What is left of the coin is in excellent shape because it was carved when new. Mine is like eBay item number:332135731461A at http://www.ebay.com/itm/1883-SILVER-RUSSIA-ROUBLE-IMPERIAL-EAGLE-CUT-OUT-ALEXANDER-II-COIN-ART-BROOCH/332135731461?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649 Wish the news could be better for your coin.
