  1. I'm a male, age 19, almost 20. I put that I was married, although its not legal for me to marry my fiance.
  2. Awesome coins! Thanks! A lot better than expected! Nice, smooth transaction, great business man! I look forward to doing future business with you!
  3. Star notes come from the mint When the original bill is messed up during production, or is used for testing they throw it out. Well, they cant have missing serial numbers, so they reprint the bill with the same serial number, but they take the letter off the end, and add a * there. And all the talk about star notes reminds me of a sad story at the bank one day. I was with my mom and she was cashing my dad's pay check. And in the $100 bills, there were 2 star notes!!!! But I didn't get to keep them So I was sad lol.
  4. Ah! Thanks. I don't have any other Canadian half dollars. So when I saw those on Ebay, I thought I should swipe them up, being the occasion and everything. And Unicorn, you should look them up. They are very pretty coins!
  5. Lol, yeah. Me and her are like 2 peas in a pod That, and I'm the only one in the family that collects coins.
  6. I'm leaving today to go to my grandmothers house for the holiday. Normally, I wouldnt post anything about this on a forum such as this...But I'm taking my collection with me! All of my albums and everything! While up there, I plan on going and hitting the flea market, like every other time. Also, the reason I'm taking everything is...I have some to give to my grandma, and my grandma has TONS of silver!!! She has nearly $200 face vaule in quarters alone. And she has halves, dimes, and war nickels too! She is going to load me up with some!!
  7. Cool cool! Thanks. Thats not very many minted though. Are they used in circulation??
  8. I ordered these off of Ebay a few years back. I got 2 Uncirculated 2002 QE2 Jubilee half dollars. I dont remembered what I paid, but it was only a few dollars. I know that these were minted for her 50 year Jubilee, but I was wondering does anybody have any other info on them? Like how many were minted and going rates.
  9. Thats a really long time! They should shorten it to about a 5 or 6 year program! Or...I kinda like doing one president per month. Thats 12 per year. And it would take a little over 3½ years.
  10. I said no. I think it takes the fun out of collecting.
  11. Hm...I'll ask again. How long will each coin be minted? Does anybody know?
  12. There are star notes for every demonitation
  13. But sales tax is different in all states. Each store would have to sit down and calculate the prices out perfectly so that when the sales tax was added, it would come out perfect. Sounds unfeasable to me. In 2004, there were 6,836,000,000 pennies minted. Thats more than all the nickels, dimes, quarters, and dollar coins combined minted in 2004. So it doesn't seem like the penny will stop being minted for a long time
  14. There are 5 quarters a year for 10 years, so how long is each Dollar going to be minted?
  15. I dont think the penny will ever go away. Its vital to every day life. When you include tax, what are you going to do when the total is $31.21? You dont have a penny to give them, and you cant give them $31.25 and expect 4 pennies back, because they dont have any either.
  16. No, Mexico uses EE UU for the US. Trust me, I took spanish for 8 years.
  17. I got through my parents and sis's change nearly everyday! Some days I'll just get a few quarters, other its a few dollars worth. And I'd say, that on average, I get about 1 or 2 star notes a month. Just in the past week, I've gotten: Pennies: 1962-D 2 1963-D 1972-D 1974 1975 1976 1976-D 1984( I kept it because it was shiney ) Nickels: 1947-D 1962-D 1964 Dimes: 1967 1972 1977 Quarters: 2 1965 2 1967 1969 1970 2 1974
  18. Lol, that is a good point. But I have heard of wallets, in places where they have $1 coins, that have a section reserved for coins
  19. I recently saw a debate on this at another forum, and I thought it would be interesting to start the debate here. Would you like to discontinue the $1 bill and let it be replaced by a $1 coin??
  20. I know a little bit of spanish...So I'll take a crack at the objectives! The first objective says something about monetary independence from the dollar. The second one says we prepare for the immenent econonomic fiasco of the E.U. And the third one says to put a solid and individual currency in the hands of the public. Complements of Spanish from 4th grade all the way through 10th grade
  21. Lol, I was just about to post that from the other forum.
  22. Ok!! I was given this info on these coins from another forum: "OM" is the mintmark for the Strassbourg Mint. According to the Standard Catalog of World Coins the copper 10 centesimi (KM#11.5) was minted there in 1966-1867, and is valued at $1.50 F to $55 Unc. for both years in the 2002 3rd Ed. It was produced in Paris without a mint mark (KM#111.2) in 1862-63 and 1866. The early ones are listed at the same values as the Strassbourg coins. Between 1862 and 1867 the coin was produced at Heaton in England, as well as at Italian mints in Milan, Naples and Turin. With all that activity, there was a total mintage of only about 350,000 pieces.
  23. Oh ok! Thanks guys! SSo is there any way to actually tell what year it is from?
