This is a beer token from the Belleville, IL Oktoberfest in 2001. Both obverse and rverse are the same and there is no date or stated value on it.<br><br> Items like this can make an interesting addition for a themed collection or just on a personal level . I keep all sorts of exonumia that I come across in my daily life. I think it adds a personal touch to my collection.

This is a marriage token issued for the nuptuals of Louis of Bavaria and Therese of Saxony in 1810. The three day celebration proved to be so popular that they were continued every year and became the origin of Oktoberfest. smile.gif
