I HAVE A PATTERN PESO OF CUBA ( SEEMS TO BE KM # 158) I NEED TO CONFIRM THAT THIS COIN IS REALLY KM 158.[attachmentid=1421][attachmentid=1422]

Not too sure about this particular coin, but there seems to be an explosion of Cuban pattern coins floating around these few years. It is rumored that some Mexican private mint made such pattern coins and when such designs did not sell, instead of melting them down, they were sold. The real problem is to verify if they were indeed pattern coins minted with the purpose of circulating / for sale in Cuba, or else considered as some sort of fantasy.

The piece depicted seems to be quite different from KM 158. Also "plata pura" would indicate that this is a silver piece while the 1 peso coins are CuNi ...

IN SCWC 2006 IN CUBAN PATTERNS SECTION HAS TWO DIFFERENTS KM#158 .PATTERNS : PnA11 AND PNB11, BOTH IN SILVER.990

MY COIN HAS A REEDED EDGE BUT HAS A SMALL PLAIN SECTION WITH
A LEGEND " MUESTRA".
