I wonder why coins would tone everywhere except close to the rim? Mine usually start toning somewhere close to the edge, if at all. If it weren't in a PCGS holder, I would say it was AT (actually, I think it's AT in spite of the holder wink.gif )

The reverse looks ugly to me, though.

I agree with you, bobh. I don't like it either.

In any event, it's a very fancy price for a very common coin.

The "winner" of the auction is a zero-feedback bidder. My guess is that the buyer is not an especially well-informed or experienced collector of Russian coins.
