This appears to be a coin that (unless I am much mistaken) has not been tampered with. Nice dark original toning with colouration varying from petroleum blue through honey gold in colour.

obverse : Gordian III radiate bust to right. IMP CAES GORDIANVS PIVS AVG

reverse: Roma seated holding Nike and a sceptre. ROMAE AETERNAE

I could get addicted to them as well. I've done the cleaning aka conserving thing and the attribution thing. It's fun. We did some as a group at an ANA seminar. Everyone had a blast. Luckily we had a few folks who were real diehard ancienters to help with the attribution -- it's hard.
