Ah! So many seem to want the US cent to go the same way. I hope not.

Except that in the US you will once in a while come across a penny. smile.gif In Switzerland, the 1 centime/rappen coin is practically non-existent in circulation anyway. The Swiss mint made them, mostly for coin sets and for businesses that used the pieces for promotional purposes, but that is pretty much it.

As from 1 January 2007 these 1 ct/rp coins do not circulate any more. And you will have until the end of 2008 to exchange them ...

Errm, Switzerland is not in the European Union. Besides, Finland and the Netherlands - two euro countries - have practically done away with the low value coins too. smile.gif
