It is an interesting coin. The flags and the cameos are incused, as if they had been counterstamped. It's like seeing a modern day George III counterstamped pillar dollar (head of a fool on the neck of an ass type) smile.gif .

I'm struck by the quality of the bust of QE on the obverse. Too often, her portraits seem flat and unattractive (imho). Either good photography or a quality strike (or both) make this a nice coin.

I could say that it is because it is one of my better executed scans of a nicely struck coin, but honesty winning out I think that it is due to the matt finish on the coin. smile.gif

It does make the difference.
