Im going to buy 2x2 cards online and they come in 100ct. Also, I gotta pick the size that big enough to accomodate world coins. So, which size is the best fit for most world coins? Half Dollar or Silver Dollar size? or maybe Quarter size is big enough?
I have my us coins with me but all my world coins are back at home. So, I cant really check what their sizes.
thanks in advance for any help hi.gif

That's quite tough. What world coins and era do you have? I think that might give a better hint of what your collection is like. Perhaps half dollar size would fit most, but I think it is a bit loose for most modern Asian coinages as they are minted in small sizes.

When I buy them for my world coins I go with the half dollar size. It holds most of the and still has room to write on. You may want to spring for a box of dollar size for those larger size coins just in case.

Half dollar size will fit a pretty good majority of world coins. Some will need the dollar size. Even fewer will need a size bigger than that but those are no longer "2x2's". The shop I get my 2x2's from call those "Crown Sized".

In fact I just picked up 100ct of every size from cent to dollar for $3/100 (price went up 50 cents per 100 for some reason).

I like the Sacky dollar size myself. Good midrange.

Mostly I have modern coins, no old/ancient coins sad.gif
I decided to go with half dollar size, it was my first choice too.
I got it for $3.75 (including the box), good price I think.

Early on I used to try a one-size bit, but too often the coins were loose and would spin around in them.
Now I buy multiple sizes in batches of 100: 17mm, 20mm, 22.5mm, 25mm, 27.5mm, 30mm, 32.5mm, and finally 35mm. biggrin.gif

I do the same as Sir Sisu, for the same reasons, but I also have 37.5 mm and 39.5 mm and ones with square holes (for the square dutch stuivers)

What type of coins do you put in those 2 larger sizes? Commems?

Do you have a link for those square shaped 2x2s? It would be neat to see them. I have only a few squares.

Oh, there's plenty of use:

dutch silver 50 gulden coins

Canadian silver dollar coins
US silver dollar coins

South Africa 50 cents (early 1960's)

United kingdom Crowns

and many other crown size coins which you should be very familiar with smile.gif

Ahaa, I see. smile.gif

My crown collection will be going in foam ringed airtites. I have been having trouble with getting my order to go through on the net. But eventually they will be in those. My other coins of that size go in regular airtites or than the Lindner trays.

Those look great! It highlights the coins so much better.
