Ok, I am definately a terrible leftist diablo.gif, but putting that aside, and I know it's too wrong, but pretty. If that was a coin, it would have blown most people's perception of boring Communist designs. hysterical.gif

It's very pretty, indeed ... most of all, I always admire the stunning coin photography on the "Monety i Medali" website. I think it's some of the best I've ever seen.

Trouble with the design is, this was only two years after the 1917 revolution. Of course it was fantastic -- in its day! The trouble is, all over Russia and Eastern Europe, that it never changed for the next seventy years!! hysterical.gif

At first I thougth: what's so special about this medal, I've seen these two bearded guys too many times. Then I noticed the date. It's a great piece of history, although I would not call it pretty. wink.gif

Ironically, the first thing when I saw it just reminded me of this coin:

I mean, look at the man in the middle, machineries in the left or right and the something else important, and tada! How similar could they be rofl1.gif

Neat!

This would fit my collection quite well.
But I wouldn't pay that much for a commie medal..

the worker on the back is kinda emaciated ... with his arms up like that it almost evokes the image of a crucifixion.
