Purchased these a couple of years ago on Bay of E. I got a kick out of them, with all the frenzy over toning. The seller calls himself "Articents". The coins seemed to be pulled shortly after these were bought. Glad I got these while I did and hope you enjoy seeing them.

You don't think they may have been helped along in their toning?

Last one looks similar to one I cooked in a frying pan!

I thought the same thing only it was the oven for me!

You can make yellow by cooking? Cool, I'm going to try that. I like the color.
Stujoe
Mine turned a nice golden in the oven after a while. I think it was around 350 degrees. Can't remember how long. Nickel and clad seemed to have sometimes get nice blues. Uncircs work best. Brand new from change type stuff.

I have no idea if cooking change is hazardous to your health. laugh.gif

Okay, I'm not a big fan of purple and blue toning, but that 2000D just plain rocks. smile.gif

I was never under the notion that these were cooked. I have the idea that they were gassed. It appears the seller was making an attempt to control the toning as a chemist would control an experiment.
Stujoe
That could be. Especially for the first one. I have never seen a cooked cent come out anywhere near that colorful. In fact, I am not even sure what you would gas that copper plating with to get those colors!

Gassing?

Never heard of that one before!
