There was a cupro-nickel and silver version minted with the same year, but only the cu-ni was released into circulation. Would you consider the silver version a circulating coin, NCLT, or something else? I am just wondering whether to place this with my commems and other NCLT or to include it in my type set of circulating silver coins.

I'd say NCLT.

NCLT.

NCLT sound the best for that coin.

If it was not INTENDED for circulation, NCLT it is...

What if they intended to use the silver in circulation and then decided, nah, lets just do the copper-nickel instead?

Then the silver coin would be a trial (pattern) coin... rofl1.gif

That is what I was thinking. And as Jose mentioned, I wonder what the original intent was? Were they minted with the intent to be circulated? Made for collector sets that were never assembled? or some other reason?
