Also a 99 cent pick up from ebay. Same Local dealer so no shipping just tax on it. 1995 Russian Rouble with case.

Duplicate Morgan year and mint but spotted the die flake. VAM 1A Die flake in lower loop of first 8 and under lower right outside. Also has a die clash on reverse by right eagle wing. (There is also a 39 with a die flake in the 8 but this appears to be the 1A.) Hated the marks on the face but Another right price.

Kind of busy day. First set from the bulk silver bin. (These did not have coa's and evidently busted out of their boxes. But really low prices. ) The ones in plastic any marks are on the outside plastic.

No pics right now, but working on my mint sets 1996 with W dime, 1997, and 1998 sets. Also a 1976 bicentennial silver unc. set.
Art
I love them all but that Texas is unbelievable. WOW!
Mark Stilson
Okay, I'm pulling an Art. hi.gif biggrin.gif Procrastination on taking pictures, cropping, and posting them. I haven't even done the mint sets I posted about on the 19 th. sorry.gif I did a quick try on the morgan vam close up.

First Thanks to Sandra's contest. 1973 Mountie, 2006 maple leaf, 2006 moose, 2- 2007 curling 25 cent pieces. 1950 beaver 5 cent, 1950 cent. Austria 1974 5 Schilling, Italy 1978 200 lire, Singapore 1 dollar note, and a unknown coin. (I'm going to try to find this one on my own before posting for help. Half the fun of coin collecting is the research. bthumbsup.gif )

Working on my mint sets again. Picked up 1978, 1987, 1989, 1994, 1995 mint sets.

While I was at the coin shop. I spotted a 1921 P with polishing lines under the bow. (Bought cheap!) Appears to be a VAM 47. Hard to see with the picture I posted but the best my camera can do. You can just barely see the lines.

IPB Image

Edit: not a 47 at least not a zerbe strike. From the pcgs it looks like they made a circulation strike also. More research needed on this one.

Edit #2 may be a 48 but vamworld under the morgans has a picture of a peace dollar.
Art
Nice going!!!!

Still no pics, But I will work on that this week end. Picked up a 1995 and a 1999 mint set. Also a "neutron irradiated" 1961 dime.

I would go ahead and get that one posted, but my wife has the camera. Here's a link about them.

Okay uploaded the pictures I missed on omni. I don't think I'm going to goof with the mint sets. Here is the Irradiated dime.

This was a bargain bin buy. (Silver price + a little) I had the choice of several. Most in B.U. range but I decided to pick out one with a little wear. Under the auspices of Austria restrikes are made and will use an original date.

Very nice.

Thanks, its getting harder and harder to find the other morgans. Several are either out of my price range or just no luck finding yet. I may start going back and start trying to upgrade some. Or get vam versions.
Art
I have a few friends who are dealers and specialize in dollars - Morgans & Peace account for like 80% of their business. They've both told me lately that nice dollars are getting harder and harder to find. The search process is much longer than even a year ago.
Mark Stilson
Well, went out to a new coin dealer I had not been to before. And found a few reasonably priced year/mint marks I did not have. I'll have to go back next week or so to try to pick up a couple more ones I don't have. bthumbsup.gif

Nice Morgans! ! ! ! hi.gif
Mark Stilson
I've got about 20 to go to get all years and mints. But that includes the 1889 cc, 1893 s, 1894, 1895 proof. Which would be real hard (Impossible) on the pocket book.
Mark Stilson
Picked up a few more Morgans today. I decided to go with trying to pick up some vams. The first one was already identified at the coin dealer as a 1878 7/8 tail feather they just did not have the full VAM on it. Its a VAM 39 7/8 Tail feather 7/5 variety in about xf condition.

The next one was in a "bulk" uncirculated bin. It was not Id'ed.

1896-P VAM-19 "8" in Denticles I did not have any VAMs for 1896 so this one worked out well.

This coin is a Top 100 Morgan VAM.

19 III219 · C3a (8 in Denticles) (190) I-3 R-5
Obverse III219– Top of 8 appears in two denticle spaces just below 8 as two raised and curved bars. Date slightly slanted with 1 closest to rim.

Close up of 8 in denticles (Only took about 70 shots to get this one picture. yahoo.gif )

Close up of wreath on reverse. showing doubling on wreath and branch.

The last one I thought might be a vam but I don't think so. At the dealer I thought I spotted a couple markers what might indicate a vam. But at home under closer exam I don't think so. I'll be double checking later. Also in the "bulk" uncirculated bin.

1881 S It does have a nice cartwheel when you move it around though.

Added these two to the Morgan VAM thread in the Museum.

nice Morgans! bthumbsup.gif
