A Mary Queen of Scots Ryal (aka `dollar') minted in 1567 during her second widowhood. Not in particularly brilliant condition, but these are difficult to get hold of in any condition. This one has also been counterstamped in 1578 with a crowned thistle denoting an upward valuation from the initial 30 shillings Scots to 36 shillings and nine pence Scots due to the sharp rise in silver prices worldwide at that time.
