Here's the link to an online version of an article that was written for Longacre's Ledger - the journal for the Flying Eagle and Indian Head Cent club.
The fellow who wrote this, Mark, has posted some of his photos on the site and they are outstanding. A worthwhile read.

That's a great article. Gave me some stuff to try when dad's macro lens comes in for his camera. It doesn't do a "horrible" job but compared to others, it's pathetic. I really want to capture the luster of this Morgan I have. Scanner leaves a dull grey appearence. It could be a candidate for grading.

Hey that's a terrific article. Hats off to Mark Goodman and thanks for bringing it up Art - a definite bookmark.
I was quietly pleased at how much of it I already knew, but he really gets into some lighting specifics that I am anxious to try out. He is talking about solving problems that I have encountered and his logic behind the lighting strategy for various coins is explained very well. This looks like good stuff!

That looks like a good one. I shall have to give it my full attention when I can devote a little time to it.
Thanks for the link, Art!
