The reverse of the coin displays a picture of the Snow Queen, complete with a blue zircon fitted in her crown. There is also a rose in the foreground of the coin and snow patterns in behind the Snow Queen.
The obverse of the coin depicts Greda and Kay, the two main characters in the story, sitting in the hollow of a crescent moon, reading a book. There are stars in the background and an inscription around the edge of the coin. Above Greda and Kay is the Belarusian mint mark, a sunrise behind an outline of the country borders.
