1837 What a great year.

(from Wikipedia)
March 4 - Martin Van Buren succeeds Andrew Jackson as the President of the United States of America.
June 20 - Queen Victoria, monarch of the United Kingdom ascends to the throne
Louis Daguerre develops Daguerreotype
Samuel Morse patents telegraph

Just think. Martin Van Buren may have carried this coin in his pocket to his innaguration.

Can you imagine this cent could have been given to Wild Bill Hickock on the occasion of his birth. He could have saved it all his life and had it in his pocket on the fateful day in 1876 when he went to meet his maker.

I can't let this go for a pultry 18 large.

Like, sure! That's not against the rules, is it? It's the hunt that matters.

Good rule of thumb at auctions, daggit--never keep a buyer from running up the bid on items you are selling! rofl1.gif
