Nice Ike. The blue's pretty cool.
Burks
It is quite beautiful. At just the right angle the colors really "pop". I paid less than I expected to for it. Thanks for the comments wink.gif

For those wondering, the Crowns are actual color. Got the color and quality down, now my image editting skills need some work (same size images would be nice).

Very nice coins.

Wow, really nice buys there Burks.

Thanks for the comments everyone smile.gif

Too bad the South Africa coin wasn't a proof, it would be worth about 30x what I paid. After a closer look I concluded it's just a really well struck UNC. They really do produce some very nice coinage.

Great coins! bthumbsup.gif

Not really a purchase but I did receive this token as a prize from a giveaway on CU. Coin is a bit darker than the image.

The reverse reads: "DISTRIBUTED BY EMPLOYES OF U.S. MINT DURING THE CELEBRATION OF PENNSYLVANIA'S BI-CENTENNIAL. OCT. 24, 1882."

You would think they would wait until the end of the year before changing. ok.gif

For 75 cents, I took a chance. If it isn't silver I still picked up a great looking coin. I'll have to weigh it at school Friday (don't have a scale at home).

Never understood why they would change through the year. Just make a short run of silver for the year and double up on the copper-nickel the next.

Here are some of the pics I promised:

1959 East Africa 1 Cent (toned). My favorite one out of the bunch. Pictures just don't capture all the colors very well.

A few medals my family brought back for me from New York City.

First is kind of like those penny machines you see all over. Except this one strikes a large blank right in front of you.

Next is pretty easy to explain, the pictures do well.

That coin is MUCH better than those I've seen at shows for $25+. A big thanks to LostDutchman grin.gif

Here is a 1937 that was won from an Ebay auction. Took a gamble with no pictures. I got the better end of the deal yahoo.gif

The same dealer has two equally toned Columbians. Same price and grade. This one had the better obverse toning compared to the 1893. The 1893's obverse was nice but the reverse was fantastic. Too bad it had a very large thumb print or it would have went home with me instead.

Outstanding stuff. The 37 Lincoln is fantastic. So is everything else.

bthumbsup.gif The nickel and half look outstanding.

I need one of those UNC 1909 VDB's smile.gif

1941 Netherland East Indies 1/4 Gulden. Gold toned.
1960-B Switzerland 1/2 Fr.
1975 Netherlands 5 Cents. Toned bright blue.
1920 Cuba 1 Centavo. Pictured below.

I like the 1 centavo. If I recall they were minted in Philadelphia during this timeframe.

Interesting fact. Didn't know anything about that. Guess I need to read up some more. smile.gif The colors caught my eye while digging through the box. The way they formed on both sides accents the design quite nicely.

My goal was to get Farthings and Swiss coinage, I get distracted easily in the 50% off box rofl1.gif

Went to the Wooster High School Coin Show today. Really didn't see much (many of the same dealers I see show after show in Toledo).

Did pick up:

1992 Great Britain 5 Pence. Gold toned rims. For 12 cents, it had to be mine.
1951/52 Morocco 50 Francs. One of the coolest designs I've ever seen.
1955 British Caribbean Territories 1/2 Cent. Pretty reds and blues.
1945 Malaya 1 Cent. My first square coin (bought my dad one as well).
1952 East Africa 5 Cent. I love the designs from that country.
1964 Venezuela 5 Centimos. Nearly bag mark free.

1979 France 50 Francs. Been wanting one of these for quite a while. For $11 in UNC condition, I couldn't pass it up (below bullion).

I did see a nice display of fake coins. Lots of 09-S-VDB cents, 1916-D dimes, and even a 1913 Liberty Nickel. Pretty interesting to see.

That's all for today smile.gif Might throw a few pictures up later tonight.

I see the same dealers all the time at the monthly South Bend show too, but at least their inventory changes!

At least at this show I won a raffle prize. A "silver dollar" valued at $30. They are sending it out in the mail today.

Medal from the collectors edition of Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (PC Game). Pretty cool medal, VERY nicely struck on the obverse, really deep. Didn't even know it came with the game. I was surprised (didn't see it listed on the box the first time I looked)!
