I'm familiar with the German and Austrian notgeld, but I never really thought about the fact that other European countries experienced the same economic hardships. I recently acquired the following two examples of French notgeld for my aluminum collection...

I borrowd a book by Courtney Coffing called " World Notgeld 1914-1947". In the book they list the countries that issued notgeld during the various economic crisises of that time. There are more than 80 countries listed. They include:
Algeria, Belgium, Fiji, Finland, French West Africa, Hong Kong, Iceland, India, Japan, Mozambique, Philippines, Russia, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia and Yugoslavia.
Pretty far reaching. Way more than I would ever guess. If I have a chance I'll put the whole list on the board.
