The CCAC unanimously urged the U.S. Mint to abandon its plans to use the images from its presidential medal series for the new Presidential dollar coins.

Now all we have to do is hope that they take the advice.

I am actually shocked that they were planning on using them all. I thought it might just be for the first year because of a time crunch.

If they are going to do the program, they should at least take it seriously enough to use fresh designs.

Some were nice but mostly what I didn't like was that they looked very disjointed as a set. Fresh designs are best.

I was actually rather fond of the Washington design on the mock up of the dollar that appeared a few months back

Some of the designs considered were nice. However, I'm for all new designs.

That was my basic thought too.

Besides, I have most of the medals and would like to see something new. wink.gif
