I have a Dansco album with a complete set of nickles from 1938 through 1988 including proofs. I have checked completed Ebay sales for pricing for the set without much luck. My research leads me to believe that in this case, the parts are greater than the whole. It is very probable that the 1939D & S coins will sell for more individually than the complete set at the same grade.
So I guess my question comes down to...Is it crazy to think about breaking apart a nice set to sell the coins individually?
Thanks
Linda
