Twenty years ago, on 1-Jan-1986, Portugal and Spain joined the European Communities. The two countries commemorate the anniversary with coins that show a map and a bridge. Maybe not the most thrilling design idea ever but what I find neat is that basically the same design is used for both issues.

Nice. The two identical designs should be a real bonus for anyone who collects bridge coins.

The piece from Portugal has apparently just been issued. Here is a picture of an actual coin - a little dark and with fingerprints but that shows it's not just a photo of the design ...
