Dream on wink.gif
Tiffibunny
Well, our friend absolutely loved the sets. He has always had an interest in coins, and he said... "They have HOCKEY coins??? Now I'm really going to start collecting coins." I have made a new recruit.

Now I need to know how many hockey coins there are in the history of coinage. Olympics to whatever and find them. laugh.gif

For ice hockey
- Finland Some 70s or 80s silver NCLT.
- Canada (1993? Stanley Cup $1, I believe one of the '88 Calgary $20s)

Interestingly, I collect hockey-themed stamps, but not coins. confused1.gif

just for the record, that what you north americans call "Hockey" is called ice hockey in the rest of the world and what we call hockey is on a grass field, with a ball...

So simply looking for "hockey" might give the wrong sport, Tiff / ccg
Tiffibunny
That's kind of weird. Do you have the hockey bill too?

That was supposed to by any, but I think you got the idea.
ccg
Okay, best one I've got is UNC-. No folds, but "wavy".

I can....Its the freakin Senators!!
WildJon
For 2007, I see they're releaseing the "classic hockey" sets, with the six remaining Canadian teams, Canucks, Flames, Oilers, Canadiens, Maple Leafs and Senators.

Here's a preview:

Ditto!!!
Tiffibunny
I got the rest of the hockey sets for Patrick & my friend for Christmas. I'll get the pics later. Though an interesting spin. They re-released the Leafs, Senators and Canadiens with 2007 and the designs are a bit revamped. Anyone know if they are planning to do this every year?
ccg
I don't want to know unsure.gif
Dockwalliper
They probably wont do the US based NHL teams but they can always do retro Pro teams(Jets, Nordiques,Maroons, etc.) or start on the Junior teams.

6 for 2006 (dated 2007), and 2 others for a total of 8.
Vielwerth
Really? I've only saw 3.
ccg
The 6 currently available (issued 2006) are on the RCM's site (I placed a link in a response to your 2007 coin set thread)

The two earlier sets were of the Montreal Canadiens and Toronto Maple Leafs (issued 2005)
