I have this 1977 100 lire coin that is gouged out at the outernmost couple millimeters of the obverse of the coin. The strange thing is that the coin's details are completely intact; nothing was scratched off. Can anybody identify this error (if it is one)?

I got several rolls of Quarters from our bank and in the end of one was a Quarter that had nothing stamped on either side. Does anyone know anything about these?

Sounds like you got a blank planchet. They're far more common than most people realize, but they're still worth something. Unless you got a slug. They're also pretty common. We used to get a lot of them in quarter rolls here. There's a company that has newspaper machines all over the county and they deposit into the main bank that I use - slug city.
