This one is a fairly scarce (and original) bronze medal issued by Frederick The Great of Prussia subsequent to his defeat of the Austrian army at Prague in 1757 at the start of the seven year war.

Unfortunately, I do not know who the artist was. If anyone has any data on that I'd certainly appreciate it.

The obverse shows a military profile of Mad Freddy. The reverse shows winged victory declaring victory for Frederick wuith Maria Theresa the Austrian Empress as suppliant.

I've not seen many of these, but I did see one which had been gilded (badly) with an added loop mounting sell for £340. shok.gif

Obverse Legend: FRIDERICVS MAGN. D.G.REX BORVSS. EL. BRAND. DVX SILES.
Reverse: FAMA PRVDENTIA VIRTVTE. Engraver Holtzhey In exergue: AVSTIR-EXERC- PROPE-PRAGEVNDIT-CAESOET-PRAGA OBSESSA VI MAJI MDCCLVII. Half-length bust right, rev Victory kicks Bohemia, knocking off her crown, 48mm (Olding 604a).
