All you need is to find out which is the COLONY, DENOMINATION and YEAR of all four coins to win a dozen of nice world coins of my choice (OK, mostly Portuguese coins...)

The pics where resized, blured and sharped to make it a bit more difficult, but if you have a small collection of commonwhealt coins, a KM book and/or a good eye for details, guessing where are they from should be easy.

Hints:
1) All coins are from different British colonies.
2) All coins have different denominations.
3) All coins are from different years.
4) At least one coin where minted outside the UK.
5) At least one coin don't use the "Pound/Shilling/Pence" system.
6) George V was king of England from 1910 to 1936 (Duh!)
7) All coins are from my collection and i don't have a great coin budget. (This will help you guess the date on each coin...)

The number of guesses for each contestant is not limited but it has to be at least 5 posts in this thread from other Coinpeople members between a guess of the same member! One try in each post!

Good luck!
gxseries
Argh, I sure hate this one. I don't even collect any British colony coins bleh.gif

1) New Zealand 6 pence 1934
2) S. Africa 6 penice 1931
3) I am quite sure this is a token, but guessing that it's a Straits Settlement coin.
4) India 1 Anna 1933.

Oh well I did some random search... bleh.gif
banivechi
1 Florin New Zealand 1933- 1936
2. 6 Pence South Africa 1923-1936

josemartins
banivechi, i want exact dates...(but i don't need mints, just year).

gx, you're good...

Results so far:

Country - Denomination - Year
(? = missing/wrong)

1) ? - ? - ?
2) South Africa - ? - ?
3) Straits Settlements - ? - ?
4) India - ? - ?

Notes/Hints:
banivechi: The denomination in coin 1 is "equivalent" to the denomination you guessed!
gxseries: Coin number 4 is a round coin!

EVERYBODY CAN TRY AGAIN (inc. "GX" and "bani")

This time, it was Sir Sisu that gave the biggest push:

So far:

1) Southern Rhodesia - 2 shillings - ?
2) South Africa - ? - ?
3) Straits Settlements - 5 cents - 1920 (OK!)
4) India - ? - ?

Hint: The India coin is very "characteristic" of George V...

EVERYBODY CAN TRY AGAIN!

ccg

josemartins
This is going fast...

Sir Sisu guessed the year of the Southern Rhodesia coin and the denomination of the South Africa coin!
And ccg the year of the Indian coin!

1) Southern Rhodesia - 2 shillings - 1936 (OK!)
2) South Africa - 3 pence - ?
3) Straits Settlements - 5 cents - 1920 (OK!)
4) India - ? - 1919

Sir Sisu won the prize i was going to give to the contestant that guessed more "points" (he already guessed 6, ccg guessed 1 and gxseries got 3), but for the main prize i still need the date of the South Africa coin and the denomination of the India coin.

So...
EVERYBODY CAN TRY AGAIN!
