i don't have any albums or folders. i have this irrational fear of them. you see, they impose organization ... and then i'd be able to see which items i didn't have, and then i'd have to spend more money.

plus, i'm kinda worried that putting coins in an album will cause them to tone in undesirable ways.

(yes, all my stuff is stored in a mishmash of mint packaging, 2x2's, ..., and i have no solution in sight.)

I have every Mercury Dime in a Whitman folder except the infernal '16-D It is the closest I come to a complete set of anything.

Since yesterday I'm the owner of a Whitmal folder named "Westward series nickels", which is the very first folder I have. It comes with 10 nickels, all 4 designs, a P and a D of each. The last two are added for the obverse.

Then there's 16 more holes in which nickels can be put, but it doesn't say which.

(proofs maybe, but that's only 4 more....)

I did not mention this in my intro, but I do have one Dansco album, #7143 for the Washington Statehood quarters P and D. I am missing only the Kansas P and both of the West Virginia coins.

I fill this album with face value coins from change only, although I am aggressive in asking friends/family if I can go though their change storage boxes, especially when I visit Florida where the P marks show up more frequently. A friend recently visited her family in New York, so I gave her $40 to get me 4 rolls of quarters to bring back. That brought me up-to-date until the Kansas type was released.

It is fun to fill this album as a change of pace from shopping for certified type coins. I occassionally upgrade the coins as I see shiny ones in my change.

Well I need one plain 'ol 71-D Ike to complete the Ike set. Then of course I have to get the Sacs and SAE's up to date to make those "complete".

Just filled some holes in the SBA but now I have some nasty stuff. 79 near date, 79 T2 Proof, 81 T2 proof.

Franklin and Jeffersons and Mercurys, which are in progress, and incomplete because I've only just returned to collecting after a layoff.

Just got in 2 blank Danscos, slip covers and pages for my cents and dimes. Will be transfering coins out of 2x2's into them soon.

The catch to the Franklins and JFKs: I only collect from roll searches. And the Franklins are all from roll searches since 1 Jan 2006.

Yes, I'm going to go for a complete Franklin collection from circulation in 2006. It'll be a challenge, but we'll see.

I'm down to just 2 Peace Dollars. Bad news... it's the 21 and 28P.

I say roll finds count as circulation finds. BUT if you prefer why not start a rolls finds thread.

Ouch! For some reason, I can't remember the last two peace dollars I bought to complete my whitman folder, but I don't think it was either of those dates. I have two of each of those two dates, one circulated example in my whitman and one slabbed MS example for my slabbed set (which is a work in progress!).

Yeah I'm kicking myself that I didn't pick up a 21 from Blackhawk when he gave me the chance. I was stupid back then.

I'm 19 coins away from filling the U.S. Type set Dansco. Missing the usual suspects, Seated dollars and all early copper. But I have really slowed down on "just filling" the album, and becoming much more selective on what's going in.

I'm already disgusted with a few that are in there, and they will be upgraded soon.
