Definitely it's a fake! Look at the colour: brown = bronze. Looking in Krause you will not find any Buffalo made from copper! Quo erat demonstrandum!

Nice error!
The last time I was in South Dakota, I found a rare, two headed buffalo. It looks like it was probably struck off center too.

The color really does assure a bodybag.
Actually they had me going until I remembered all the genuine coins had the dots under the belly but also had a D mintmark under the buffalo.
Something about this one might not be kosher.

On the plus side it looks like it's a weak strike because of the indistinct lettering and the virtual lack of horn detail; it would be low-grade anyway.
