Anyone have the new Photgrade book? If so, how are the pics, and is it worth upgrading from my 1970 edition. biggrin.gif

I did not know that a new one was in the works. I did pick up a new (6th edition, 2005) ANA Grading Standards Guide. With a coupon it was under $12 total at Borders. I figured that it would complement my old Photograde and PCGS guide. All-in-all it looks pretty good. In many cases, however, the photos do not work well. Other than a small full color section, largely devoted to "market grading" issues, you have some of the same problems as with the old Photograde.

I think there is room for a really well done, high-tech, grading series. I like the sections in Coin Values magazine sometimes - nice maps illustrating high points and focal areas (the ANA guide does some of this as well).

I didn't know there was a new photo grade out either. I am not sure what year mine is but the pictures could only be improved!

OK, syzygy may be right. Check out the link, I thought the second book was the first. Does anybody have that first book yet?
