Italy also issues a coin dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the UN. Looks neat in my opinion --

Pretty much the same as what the Monnaie de Paris, the US Mint and some other mints do when it comes to silver (or gold) collector coins. The price, even you buy directly from the mint, is considerably higher than the face value. I don't like that either, and I do not buy modern Italian coins very often ...
