The steel plate engraving on that note pales my 19th Century Scottish by far. But that is why I am sure I could never afford it.

This is a very very rare note. I won't be surprised if it goes for far more than the £4000 open.

The Pringle and Austin collection notes went for outrageous prices, and some of them are again in this sale, their having been purchased by the collector now auctioning them.
