SMD : grease mark, you mean that strange thing around "we" ?
I don't know if it's on all coins, but I assume not. If it was on all coins in the same locatin, you should be able to see it on the paper of the roll as well.

Well, my roll of P's almost all had a sort of toning (grease?) on almost every one of them. So, I don't know if you'll have any luck in returning them.

Guess they must use some grease for the hard metal striking. It shouldn't be a problem on the nickel alloy.

Trantor3, I thought the grease was on the die. I don't understand it being on the wrapper.
So, do you think it is through the whole roll? Should I keep it? Is it more rare?
thx...noob in training!

Yes, you should just keep them. You're probably stuck with them anyway since the mint will give you a hassle about returning them.

Dunno about the grease but what is that area in the field in front of his eyes? Some kind of die erosion?

will you be happy with them if you keep them? If the answer isn't an automatic resounding "yes!" then no, you shouldn't keep them. Just return them and get ones you will be happy with.
