Full Version: checks extinct in 20 years?
what i don't understand: people who write checks for retail transactions.
I guess I haven't lived long enough to understand the concept of checks or even seeing people use checks... 
I only recall having seen someone write a check for a grocery or dept. store purchase just twice.
one thing i won't miss are the old days when no matter what register line i chose, the guy in front of me would pay with a check. it would take forever!
with e-payments, checking account debit cards, and numerous other alternative payment methods available, i guess it was only a matter of time. i find instant payments are a lot more convenient anyway, and i hate how long checks take to arrive, clear, and appear on my balance.
