You are such a sweet 'lil ninja, Bobbycoin, lookin' out for your senile old Aunt Kat! I'll soon be 43--just imagine how dense I'm going to be when I really do get old! I'm movin' in with Abish's grandma--Grandma is cool and discusses strange things--we should get along just fine! rofl1.gif
Kat
I have a hard time picturing Sir as a teenage boy, out on his first big record shopping expedition, buying things like Donna Summer and Michael Jackson along side of Pink Floyd. Most of the guys I grew up would just have soon been shot than admit to buying disco or pop. laugh.gif

Do not be fooled by the Floyd. wink.gif And I was not even a teen yet, I was only 8 years old. I just bought whatever I liked. biggrin.gif

From 8 to my teen years I was made fun of by my older brother and some of his friends because of some of the songs I liked.

I hear that! Anybody sensitive enough to like something besides screaming guitars, etc., definitely got teased. Again, I guess I didn't read closely enough--didn't catch that you were only 8.

Quick story--when I was around 8 I sang all the time for my relatives--mainly 'church' music. My aunt's favorite was Jesus Loves Me. When I became a mother and my daughter was about 8, my aunt visisted and told her that I used to sing for her. Then my aunt asked my daughter to sing a song for her (expecting, I'm sure, something like Jesus Loves Me.) She quickly complied with a rousing chorus of Shot Through The Heart (You Give Love A Bad Name.) We were in the car and my aunt almost drove off the road we laughed so hard. It now lives on in infamy, much to my daughter's dismay! laugh.gif

btw: those last guesses were not it either.

That is the one! Congrats Ninja!

Here is a longer sample of that song.

These are the other 45s that I have that were on the list. However, there were published in 1980 as the songs I was looking for were from 1979.

Atomic Blondie #39
Call Me Blondie #1
Cars Gary Numan #9
Dreaming Cliff Richard #10
The Empire Strikes Back Meco
(instrumental) #18
Gimme Some Lovin' Blues Brothers #18

Woman In Love Barbra Streisand #1
Xanadu Olivia Newton-John & ELO #8
You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling Daryl Hall & John Oates #12

I also bought the following, but they broke through the years as I was a kid and not too careful at times. Thus I no longer have them:
All Out of Love Air Supply #2
Funkytown Lipps, Inc. #1
Give Me the Night George Benson #4
I'm Alive Electric Light Orchestra #16
Upside Down Diana Ross #1
