:crazed: WOW! Your wife has not only picked up some commems with great designs but some VERY NICE samples!!  Hmmmmmmmmmm, think she might adopt me? biggrin.gif
Tiffibunny
QUOTE("bustchaser")

Well, it's obvious that she has great taste...look who she married. laugh.gif

As for adopting...you may have to wait about 13 years.  She still has 39 commems to complete my set.

Inhertance would suffice for me.

Wow, I concur that your wife knows how to pick coins! Does she actually collect?
Tiffibunny
QUOTE("bustchaser")
No, she spends.

I like the Washington/Carver...I think it and the Booker T. Washington both seem to get a bad rap because they came out 15 to 20 years after the big frenzy of the earlier ones.

Picked it up real cheap.  I like the toning, could live without the rim knock, but it was really cheap.

That's a nice coin. These used to be dirt cheap. But from what I read the interest in them has picked up considerably.

The Marshall is really nice. It appears to be very high quality. I'd guess we're talking PF69 / MS69. Of course coming out of the Mint they should be 69/70 grade coins.

James Madison Bill of Rights Commemorative Half Dollar

QUOTE("Art")
Nice half dollars. I like the half dollar commems as a follow-on to the original commem program. Many people do not realize that most of the original commemorative were Half Dollars.
Tiffibunny
QUOTE("Tiffibunny")
Y'know I actually think it's weird that they don't do more halves.  We do 2 commems a year why not one dollar and one half?
Tiffibunny
QUOTE("Art")

Or have a Dollar and a Half for each issue. More options for the collector. Maybe they could do something like Dollar in proof and half in unc and then alternate on each new issue.
Tiffibunny
QUOTE("Tiffibunny")

That would be nice too.  I'd go for that.

Ok, I had to do it. I have something to add here in a minute once I get it into Omnicoin.

I know it's foggy, but I got it as an extra in a large purchase. I absolutely LOVE the eagle on this coin. It's one of the very few Olympic Commems I can handle.

If you give that guy a bath in acetone and then de-ionized water, you'll get rid of the fog. Just don't rub it - the acetone will leave scratches. Dip it.

Thanks Art. I did buy acetone a while back, never did bring myself to use it.

I think that one is beyond the help acetone could give. I've had a few of those olympic dollars. The eagle is a nice'un indeed.

Hate to tell you, but that dark splotching looks like a job for Tarnex. Don't waste money on that "MS-70" stuff. It's worthless and will leave weird looking tracks on your coins.

What is with the headless, legs cut off naked man and woman on poles?
The original Olympic's were all male events, and yes they participated in the nude, but they had legs and heads! And there were no naked women there. Must be a LA California thing.

Now I generally hate Olympic and/or sports coins, but I absolutely love the design of the half. I don't care much about the dollar. Got as a set for my birthday.

Some new additions to the official "Babydoll Memorial Collection" that I picked up since her death last May...as you can tell, I don't have the eye she did. sad.gif

I think it's wonderful that you're continuing the tradition. That's just beautiful.
