A couple of months ago, I was browsing eBay and spotted 2 coins that attracted my attention. I’m not a great expert at spotting fakes, but these coins looked somewhat “unusual” to me. A few weeks later I saw (imho) the same 2 coins offered again, but I could not find the original offers, so I wasn’t sure if I wasn’t just having a déjà vu. Now I have spotted that seller again (offering something “unusual”), and I checked his feedback. Surely enough he received positive replies on both transactions:

I wondered if these actually were the same coins, but now I doubt it since the seller received positive feedback on both transactions?! So, there may be more of these out there.

The first two Georgian coins use the same photo. It is also rather odd that both winners posted
feedback the same day, one from Austria, the other from the U.S. I have, however, compared
the dies to known genuine pieces and see no significant differences.

This is the first time that I have seen the obverse countermarks but cannot read the one at the lower left.

It's just looks very fishy. These coins are very distinctive, I can't believe the buyer (who got the wrong coin) would not complain?! And the 1798 rouble also sold twice! Is it possible that these are galvano copies, or high pressure casts? I usually can't tell until I pick one up
