My main reason for suspicion is my bad experience with a fake 1802 5K, which i bought, but was able to return to the seller.

The eagle looks very similar (to the fake i no longer have, but i will look for and post images), for example very even worn appearance with dull detail, and similar coloring. (based on photo only!) My fake also had the same slight offset striking, and "hollow" dentils on the obverse outer border.

If authentic, of course, it is a very nice rare coin. unsure.gif

Would be good to see a picture of an edge of 5 kopeck. Usually you can see it clearly if this is a fake.

I'm not sure about this one, but I'm not a copper specialist.

The coin appears to be the type of Bitkin-285, but the obese eagle doesn't seem to match any of the illustrations in the references that I checked. unsure.gif

This piece is virtually identical to a specimen that appeared in Auction
356 of the Finnish Numismatic Society on 19 November 2005. I downloaded
the photograph but unfortunately it no longer comes up on their site. My
opinion is that it seems to be good.

Wow ... the edge really does give it away!

Yes it is. Also very often there is a seam presented in between of edge and sides of a coin. It happens when coin is made not of one piece of metal.
