I'm new to Russian coins and have a few questions about Russsian Imperial platinum coins.
1. How much have prices gone up in the last decade?
2. Do any dealers have these in inventory?
3. How rare are the 3, 6 and 12 roubles?
4. What do you think the future is pricewise?

Very rare if genuine, even rarer in proof condition and depending on the years. You normally don't find them in dealers inventories although I have seen one in my real hands but that's just 3 rubles. The 6 and 12 rubles are excessively scarce and if you can find them, you are talking about high ends of thousands of dollars, if not more than tens of thousands of dollars.

Do check the realized price on major auctions and you'll get a better idea of the prices.

Interesting article. I was looking at a few 3 rouble coins in the Long Beach Heritage sale that are NGC or PCGS certified but I read on here that even NGC and PCGS are fooled sometimes. Most of the ones on Heritage are from a collection but I'm not sure if that increases the odds that they are genuine.

Main problem in platinum coins a lot of fake and "novodels" on the market. The best way identified original show coins to GIM (Moscow Historical Museum)

It some identified characteristic for original platinum exist, but counterfeit masters getting better every day.

I don't think it's good enough - you might need to send them for mass spectrometry analysis test

First counterfeit i have see of 3 rubles was text instead "L" letter"A"

I have commented on these Platinum Review articles in another thread.

The authors are experts in analysis of metallic composition, but I'm not so sure that they understand the difference between a novodel and a fake (they are NOT the same thing).
