I already have 3 coins of 1 Poltinnik years 1924,1925 and 1926, I didn't have any idea that the 1924 is diffrent from the other two until I came accross a link on the net that show them in seperated columns and they have diffrent numbers:
1924 is Y#89.1 and the others are Y#89.2.

1924:

I know that they must be different one from the other - My question is How? What should I look for? is it an obvious difference?
Can any one help me with that please?

Thanks

1924 is TR and PL. 1925, 1926, 1927 only PL

Thanks vasil, now I know that there are two coins of 1924 to be collected and only one of each from 1925 to 1927.

Sorry to ask a stupid question smile.gif but, What is PL and TR - Where can I see it on the coin? is it somthing in general -meaning an overall of the coin, or maybe it is somthing little that makes the difference.

It would be great to see pictures of both PL and TR and to see the differences.
another novice question, if I may:

why 1924 poltinnik is #y89.1 and the others are #y89.2? or maybe I'm wrong.
as I mentioned above I have already 3 Poltinniks and one of them is from 1924 - How can I tell if it is PL or TR?

Thank you in advanced
TQ

It's on the edges TQ.

PL and TR refers to the mintmasters that worked on the dies. It is written in Cyrillic except the PL and TR that we see are in Roman alphabet. Vasil has already shown a good photo - the top one is a PL and the bottom one is a TR.

PL - || /|
TR - TP

It's just Cyrillic. For example ANNA in Cyrillic would become AHHA.

Thank you gxseries, hi.gif

It is on the edges, and thank you for explaining that for me smile.gif.
I think it is time for me to learn Cyrillic - if I want to collect coins from Russia I need to know a bit Cyrillic doh.gif

What are PL and TR are these short of something?
And about the Cat. No. Y#89.1 and Y#89.2 are for PL and TR? or not?

Thanks
TQ

See in the pic what means PL and TR (mintmasters officials):

I dont know what Cat No Y#89.1 and Y#89.2 stands for (maibe is for the mints, I've supposed so). Ask the seller.
