This is Carl Theodor, Duke of Bavaria and Elector and Prince of the Palantinate. He ruled until 1799.

The engraver was Anton Schaeffer, mintmaster at Mannheim from circa 1744-1799. His active work period was almost exactly the same time span that Carl Theodor reigned.

Interesting coin. The bust appears to be an excellent example of the engraver's art.
