A new Auction site hopes, through the use of Moderators, to avoid
fraudulent listings. Moderators with expertise in each area (Russian Coins,
Books, Art, or whatever) are being recruited to ride herd on Sellers
who accidentally or on purpose mis-represent their merchandise.

Everything sounds very noble ... I hope they are successful. But I wonder how they are actually going to attract sellers with enough good material to make it worth the moderators' time and efforts, and the buyers to bid on it?
