Well looking at this coin on the back i found that part of the ear is missing and there is a what appears to be a die gouge

could anyone help me here cause i've not see anything like this

part of the design? maybe the guy was tortured before his portrait was taken onto the coin design.

I gather lousy coin making is to blame this coin looks bad, but gee this is a very noticeable mistake when part of the design is missing, i wonder who was in charge in inspecting these coins?

but this is a first mistake that i'm stumped about cause i have no idea if it's a die gouge or a lamination error or something else

I just need some of our error people to help me with this

To be a die problem, the area has to be raised above the surface.

Well after looking at it closer it's a minor lamination error not a die gouge
