Hi all,

While surfing the net looking for coins of Soviet Union I have found 2 different coins of the same nomination for the same year unsure.gif

Can some one please help me sort things out.

Are there more coins like this ? same value and same year but different coin?

One is the standard issue coin, while the other one was minted specifically on an Island of Shpitsbergen, where coal/oil was being mined. That coin/token is more collectible than the 1st, commanding a price of $20-50, depending on its condition. With the 1st (standart issue) not having much of value (maybe $1-5, depending on condition also).

Those Spitzburg coins don't come cheap these days especially in good condition. Those were just issued in 1946 and 1993 and the other years are just... random. tongue.gif
