Hi all. this 46.4 grams coin with smooth edge - why making forgery of such a cheap coin ? any thoughts ?

I have no idea, but that is one of the most unconvincing fakes I have seen.

He was going to change the crown above the monogram into the Avesta type (Swedish imitation, very expensive). Also he straightened the "7s" of the date the Avesta way. Sigi

Hello Sigi, long time seen. Hope you remember me. Yes of course ! Avesta 1778 had been rare indeed ! bad craftsman.

There is one thing they cannot easily fake ... the Swedes misspelled the word "КОПҌЕКЪ" on the "genuine" counterfeits biggrin.gif by substituting the soft sign: "Ь" for the correct hard sign: "Ъ". Even on this coin, which has been artificially worn to make it difficult to tell any details, you can see that the word "КОПҌЕКЪ" is spelled correctly.
